Unwritten plain slateplatter. You can use chalk on these boards to write names ofcheeses etc. so they are suitable, not only for the home, but forrestaurants and hotels too.
These are untreatedslate but if you want a slight sheen to the boards, apply a lightrubbing of edible oil. This also seals the boards to someextent.
Slate is a naturalproduct with an uneven surface which may be ridged or veined, andthe edges are deliberately chipped, rather than being perfectlysmooth. These factors provide a pleasing rustic appearance whichtherefore complements a selection of artisan cheeses.
